Friggin' Migraines
So Mon when I called my Dr's ofc
they told me that my Dr is out of town & I had to see his partner.
Since my head had hurt since Fri (or longer)
Since my head had hurt since Fri (or longer)
I agreed without much (much) trepidation.
(I hate new Dr's)
So I get there and have to wait about 10 mins
(while watching Judge Joe Brown).
Not bad.
I only have to wait about 5 mins or so for
him to actually come into the room.
Not bad.
His breathe smelled like he'd just smoked half a cig
before coming in and forgot his breath mints.
Ick. Unacceptable.
He talked to me like he'd rather have been somewhere else.
Me too buddy.
He tells me that I have severe sinusitus
(what put me in the hosp in Feb)
and that's probably what's causing my migraines.
Or I could just be having migraines on top of it.
Really now? And you went to school how long?
He gives me samples of Allegra,
a RX for Penicillin (or the generic)
and lortabs for the pain (or hydrocodone -aka- generic).
All is thus forgiven.
Except for the fact I woke up
with a fucking headache again this morning.
And I generally feel like shit.
DooDoo.
And I just want to curse and go back to bed.
But I can't because we're granting a
wish for a sick child tomorrow for
Make-A-Wish
and I promised to help.
So we were at work until almost 9 pm.
My head was busting. Took a Lortab..
My head STILL fucking hurts...
and now I just finished (see what time it is?)
burning a CD for tomorrow's festivities.
Joy.
But I'm home and fixin' ta go to bed.
Good Night all..
Sleep tight.
Don't let the bed bugs bite.
Peace out.
Say your prayers...
Now I lay me down to Sleep
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
If I die before I wake
Lord please let someone else get to my computer
at work before my boss...

NO SHIT!!!!
Char,
I've had chronic migraines for about 12 years. Earlier this year, I had one so severe that I ended up in the ER. They gave me one injection with a high power pain killer/ anti-nausea combo. 20 minutes later, I was still crying and vomiting b/c from the pain. Finally, they gave me a shot of morphine. Within 7 or 8 minutes, the pain had eased enough that I could actually talk well enough to let me husband know what I was feeling.
After that, I talked to my doctor about why it was taking something as strong as morphine to kill the pain. I'd been told before that the headaches were caused by anything from allerigies to sinus infections to something as serious as a tumor. Doc told me that sometimes migraines are just there and there is no visible rhyme or reason. After the morphine, I haven't had a REALLY bad headache in several months although I've a few I treated with Advil. But if it comes up, I have a "note" from my doctor that morphine may be the only treatment that works and for ER personnel to consider it sooner than they normally would. It helps knowing that when the "BIG ONE" hits, I have an option that I KNOW will work.
I hope they get better for you... I know how the bastards can flip your life up-side-down.

I used to have killer headaches that made me think the top of my head was going to pop off. After three CAT scans and a trip to the neurologist, they finally determined that they were indeed caused by my sinuses. I had laser surgery on my sinuses and I haven't had headaches like that since. So, I'll throw in my two cents (which is all my advice is worth) and suggest a good ear, nose and throat doctor who specializes in sinuses.
