Ok.. so thats not "exactly" what we were told today, but we were told that we are being divestitured out. Possibly Jan '06 or June '06 or whenever the business need is.
They are moving our jobs to Houston, TX.
They are offering (me) 4 wks severance taxed at over 25%.
They will offer Cobra that I can't afford.
Ok folks.. I need a new job. Preferably sooner than later.
Holla' if you know of one.

Not yet... If they even do.
Plus, we won't know any of those sorts of details for a little bit yet. I dont really want to relocate... Unless the money is Sweet. Which I totally doubt.
Oh crap. I'm so sorry.. at least they gave you some advanced warning so that you can find something. Nothing like job hunting in the open. This happened to me, and it was "kinda" cool b/c in the middle of the day I would leave for a "job interview" and there was nothing they could do.
On the flip side - I've heard good things about Houston lately..
Their black gay scene is hoppin...don't know if that helps you make a decision...
